Elba’s beaches are surrounded by reefs, and the seabed slopes down along fairly deep cliffs, making it possible, even with just a mask a few meters from shore, to see lots of fish and many forms of life. There are numerous diving centers in Elba that can take you to wonderful diving spots. The Elban climate is mild, and it becomes pleasant to dive even in spring and fall.
If you want to snorkel, there are dozens of coves waiting for you to discover the Elba Island sea and take a swim with the fish swimming beside you!

Are you passionate about diving and want to discover Elba underwater? Our Bed and Breakfast Villa Costanza is perfectly located to discover our island. There are two diving centers in Lacona that can take you to lots of diving spots.
If you want to explore other dive spots on Elba or set out to explore the seabed of the island of Pianosa, from our Bed and Breakfast Villa Costanza you will easily reach all the diving centers on the island. If you are a diving enthusiast, Elba is a paradise made of spectacular seabed, lots of fish and an explosion of colors!
ELVISCOTT WRECK
HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A WRECK UP CLOSE ?
One experience we absolutely recommend is to discover the Elviscott wreck, which can be seen even if only with a mask and snorkel, a cargo ship that lies in the sea in front of the beautiful Pomonte beach, also called “Wreck Beach.”
Of the merchant ship, which sank in 1972, fortunately without any consequences for the crew, the entire stern with the bridge and part of the side remain. To find oneself with the wreck under one’s legs is a unique and magical feeling. Those who are divers will be able to start from the beach, which is only 150 meters from the dive site, and enter inside the wreck, go all the way to the engine room, pass inside a corridor, and reach the bridge deck, surrounded by fish and incredible colors.
THE SCOGLIETTO
A SWIM SURROUNDED BY FISH
Another very interesting dive spot is the Scoglietto biological protection zone, perhaps one of the most striking spots in the entire Mediterranean. Being a protected area, this area has become a real aquarium, filled with all the marine flora and fauna of the
Mediterranean. The seafloor surrounding the Scoglietto, especially the eastern part where there is a landslide from 7/8 meters up to 25 meters, is one of the best places to arrange diving. Here you can admire groupers, some of considerable size and not at all frightened by the presence of divers. You will admire fish of all species: bream, salps, mullet, damselfish, a spectacle for your eyes!
